Academic Support for Students

Welcome Neighbor STL is committed to helping refugee students succeed. We have two programs dedicated to helping students with academics.

Weekly Tutoring Session for Students

Welcome Neighbor STL offers an evening group tutoring session on Wednesday nights 6:00pm-7:30 pm during the school year. The program is open to refugee students in grades 5 through 12. Volunteers work one-on-one or in small groups to provide additional support with homework assignments, as well as skill development in English and math.

In-House Tutoring

Welcome Neighbor STL offers In-Home Tutoring for students who are not able to attend onsite tutoring, or for those who prefer the in-home option. Volunteers are assigned to a refugee home with school-aged children from first to twelfth grade. Volunteer tutors help with homework, language, and math skills, They also provide friendship and show support.

We would love for you to join our family partner volunteer team!
